Jewel In Cornwall’s Crown
St Ives is one of Cornwall’s most popular tourist destinations and is often referred to as the ‘jewel in Cornwall’s crown’ – a stunning endorsem*nt in one of the UK’s most beautiful and diverse landscapes. Boasting numerous beaches edged with golden white sand, a variety of local and international cuisines and the go-to south west destination for culture and art, St Ives has a lot to offer.

We have many dog friendly properties from small apartments to traditional cottages and larger villas – there’s bound to be something to suit you.
Dog Friendly Town
St Ives is extremely welcoming to dogs and you will find many pubs and restaurants where your dog can be at your side. Dogs are also welcome on all of the beaches and although there are some restrictions during the summer, you will always find a beach for a scamper, a dig, a game of fetch and a swim. Your best friend can even join you on one of the many boat trips out to Godrevy Lighthouse or Seal Island!
There are miles of open countryside to roam and the south west coast path is easily reached from St Ives – but do take care, follow the countryside code and keep your dog on a lead around cattle and sheep and of course, pay particular attention when on the coast path as it often runs very close to the edge with sheer drops down to the rocks below. Stunningly beautiful though and well worth a day out.
If you want to venture further afield, you can catch a bus or the train from St Ives over to the south coast and explore Marazion, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole. The wide, paved coastal path runs for around 6½ miles from Marazion to Mousehole with many pit stops along the way.
If you happen to be in Penzance at the end of October, why not book you and your pooch in for a swim in the geo-thermally heated Jubilee Pool? Yes, on the last day of the season, the main pool in the art deco lido is opened up to dogs and their owners for a unique splash around and swim day! Great fun for everyone but don’t forget to book!
St Ives also boasts a dog groomer with premises in Cyril Noall Square right in the centre of town and a fancy doggie boutique selling extra-special, luxury goods and treats called Salty Dog Boutique on Market Place – well, it is their holiday too! For your everyday things, Rockys Pet Care on Tregenna Hill will have all the basics as do any of the supermarkets and local food shops.
There are two local veterinary practices: St Ives Veterinary Surgery on Trenwith Lane at the top of town and also Animal Vets on St Ives Road where your pooches will be in safe hands in the event of an emergency.
